Lease the Essential Phone for $6 a month at Sprint

It's hard to believe that it was just this past January when Andy Rubin, known as "the father of Android," said that he was building a phone to compete against top shelf models like the Apple iPhone and the Google Pixel. The Essential Phone launched during the summer with an edge-to-edge display, a smaller version of the notch, and a dual-camera setup that is improving with every update.

Originally priced at $699, a few months later the phone received a permanent (and rather hefty) $200 price cut to $499. Now, you can walk into Sprint and lease the Essential Phone for just $6 per month on an 18-month Flex lease plan from Sprint. Well-qualified Sprint subscribers activating a new line, or using an eligible upgrade, are allowed to take advantage of this deal.

With a Sprint 18-month Flex lease, you'll be paying only $6 per month after receiving a monthly bill credit for $23.17. The credit kicks in after you make two payments in the regular monthly amount of $29.17. After 18 months, you can trade in the phone for a new one and start leasing the new model, or you can buy the Essential Phone for the difference between the retail price of the handset, and what you have paid during the 18-months of the lease period. That balance can be paid over a 6-month period, or paid all at once.

Handle this entirely online, and Sprint will waive its usual $30 activation fee. And in many cases, you'll still be able to pick up the phone from your local Sprint location on the same day you place the order. If interested, click on the sourcelink.
